Protecting Your Child's Future

It's easy for young people to get in over their heads. A one-time error in judgment can result in serious criminal charges and even a prison sentence, which could have a significant impact on their future.

If your son or daughter has been charged with a juvenile crime, contact The Law Office of Peter C. Polidoro, LLC. Call 201-669-3984 for a free phone consultation.

Juvenile Crimes Defense

When a young person commits a crime, he or she needs the same kind of strong legal defense as an adult. I'm attorney Peter Polidoro and I've been working in the criminal justice system for more than 20 years. I know the ins and outs of both the adult and juvenile courts. I represent young people facing charges in either court on any charge:

  • Violent Crimes: Assault, assault with a deadly weapon, vehicular homicide, murder

  • Property Crimes: Arson, vandalism, destruction of property, burglary, shoplifting, stealing cars, theft

  • Drug Crimes: From simple possession to drug dealing on school property

  • School Crimes: Fighting in school, threatening a teacher, threatening a fellow student, school arson, destroying school property, bomb threats, truancy

  • DUI / drunk driving: Individuals under the age of 21 will be charged with DUI if they are found to have any amount of alcohol in their system. The penalties vary depending on blood alcohol content (BAC):
    • At or above .08 — A minor is subject to the same penalties as an adult offender.
    • Below .08 — A minor may lose his or her license for 30-90 days, face 15-30 days of community service, and must enroll in an 12-48 hours of classes at the Intoxicated Driver Resource Center (IDRC).
  • Underage drinking / consumption of alcohol: The possession or consumption of alcohol by someone under the age of 21 is a criminal offense and carries a penalty of up to 6 months in jail.

How I Can Help

As a defense attorney, one of the most important things I can do for you is keep your child's future front and center in the courtroom. Whatever mistake your child may have made, he or she should have an opportunity to move forward, and not have that mistake affect his or her future. There are several diversion and probationary programs available in New Jersey. I will help you explore options and be a strong advocate for your child's best interests.
